I can confirm that you won't see the E-3 Sentry (AWACS) flyby as it will fly on the Saturday show only.

Unfortunately, Milwaukee is classic for this. They list a bunch of acts, sell tickets, then say half the acts can't come.

Practice is 10-3PM on Friday. That looks to be the best weather day. Believe they stage out of Gen. Mitchel Airport (refueling wing).

Since the most favorable weather may very well be Friday I was thinking of making the run from Chicago on the practice day, Friday..I was wondering if it is the complete air show?? In Chicago the practice day is about 90 percent of all the acts for the weekend...Is it the same in Milwaukee?? I know that some things won't appear as I have read in previous posts but I want to make sure it is worth the trip...Is the time frame any different as far as start and finish? The other thing I was wondering...the last time I was there they had blocked off a huge part of the area to make it a pay to enter..really reducing the free area...Is that still the case?? Any thoughts would be appreciated....thanks in advance......

The practice should be quite similar to Chicago - almost all of the 'regular' acts should go. Military flybys don't typically practice but demo teams do. The TFR is active from 11-5 each day.

When I've gone in the past we watched from Bradford Beach, which was free. Most points south of there were blocked for VIP/paid passes but Bradford was fine. I don't know if it is still that way though

I reached out and messaged them on their FB page they said parking for Friday's practice is free where it would ordinarily be a paid thing for the weekend airshow. McKinley Park on the south end of show center should be free.

Honestly, Bradford Beach is the best spot. In fact, it's center point. If you look directly behind, you will see the water tower which is generally center point. The beach just north of Bradford is good too as the box lines up nicely. On Friday, you shoukd be able to park on the street.

I've only been to the show once in 2015. If I remember correctly, Ryan, a friend of ours, and myself watched the show on Bradford Beach and we ended up chilling at The Dock at Bradford Beach. It's a bar and grill and is elevated from the ground.

Might be a good spot. I'm flying into MKE Saturday morning and going to watch the show. Hopefully the weather holds. I might try the spot I mentioned above and hope it isn't too crowded.
