One quick note on the closed beaches due to rip currents. Milwaukee County recently approved emergency funds to restore/repair the conditions that led to multiple drownings in recent years at those beaches. So I would fully expect some of those areas to be back open/available for viewing in years to come (I usually have sat near the McKinley Beach which was fenced off for safety reasons).srresquire wrote: ↑Mon Jul 25, 2022 2:37 pm I wanted to offer my thoughts on this year's show....First off it's the most crowded I have ever seen it..which I think is a good thing. I was very disappointed that they have fenced off the entire lakeshore...between the closed beaches (due to rip currents?) and viewing area restrictions there were no really good areas to watch the show...I tried to purchase the overpriced center view tickets but was told they were all sold out for the entire weekend...yet many empty chairs and open space seemed to be available...I was also told, not officially, that pro grade camera setups were not permitted in the viewing area. I have to say that I really enjoyed the shows in the past when you could arrive early and stake out a good spot...now it seems like that is no longer an option. I feel a pay to view area is ok but the entire lakefront should not be closed to the public..I believe that was my last Milwaukee air show...they have a good thing but monetizing it and restricting access is NOT the way to go in my opinion...All that said I have to say I enjoyed all the acts presented even though the Blue Angels were down a ship...and the crowd was full of nice friendly well behaved people. I will miss attending this but I can't see coming back...even though I couldn't get in the viewing area they still got 25 bucks from me for parking so I feel like I paid my share.....
