The show went pretty well today. We were in line for the main gate around 7:30, parked in handicap so right near a check point. Everyone there was quite friendly and happy to assist. I saw many coolers and a scanner go in despite the rules. ON the other hand, I heard someone had a camera lens rejected at one of the other gates for no apparent reason. Security tried to warn people as soon as they saw a potential issue instead of letting them get all the way up to the end. They did only have one metal detector so I can imagine things bogged down pretty quickly. But there were other gates too.

The layout was even bigger than I remembered. We sat at the far right end (near our gate, planned that way on purpose) so I had to walk corner to corner to see the statics. The early start time meant I barely had time to see any statics before beginning the trek back to the seats. I really wish they had taken the hour+ break and moved it to the beginning so I could have wandered more.

The lineup was fantastic, all cool stuff. The customs demo is pretty rare and cool to see. Unfortunately it had to be done on the runway where no one could see any details. Most things flew very far out there as well.

Somehow our corner NEVER filled in - front row seats available all day long. It was like having our own airshow! Very relaxed and pleasant. And being on the corner, we got some tight, good light photo passes as a bonus.

I thought the A-10 field attack demo was better than I remember in previous shows, but it was begging for pyro.

It was a good enough day that I considered going back tomorrow, but the hassle of driving across town to get in line by 7:30 is just too much. If you show up after 9, you are destined for insane parking and security lines. Shame they made it start so early only to have a huge gap in the middle.

Lackluster show, almost feel asleep. Some amazingly long gaps with nothing in the air, at one point a stranded golf cart by the runway seemed to have held up the show for half an hour, then they were in search of some black bucket.

Anyone know if the F-15 ever showed up ?

This was my big fear and they didn't bat an eye at mine.

I was towards the center, by the trailer with the big video board on it, and I forgot about the afternoon lighting making everything a challenge. Really good show, not fun to shoot later on in the program. By the time the Hornet and the Raptor flew they were backlit. CF-18 demo was outstanding, I thought. Modem really thrashed that plane around.

My favorite five for good measure.

There was one from Mountain Home parked in the statics.

Cf-18 Demo won't be flying today. Both jets are down due to mechanical/technical issues.
The #CF18Demo Team will be unable to perform our planned show today at the Selfridge 2022 Open House & Air Show. Following yesterday's performance a technical issue was discovered during the post flight inspection that is preventing us from flying today. We are still planning to hold an autograph session from 12:00 to 1pm in the static display area near the A-10 display. We look forward to seeing you there!

Run of bad luck for the Canadians in MI, after last months bird strike abort in Ypsi now this.

I thought thats why they had 2 aircraft, so one could fly the show if the other couldn't.

The demo they flew on Saturday was excellent, but I agree...seems like they had bad luck at Wild Wednesday and this past Sunday.
I thought it was awesome though they brought last years jet and this year's....while the 2022 jet was in the hanger next to the operations center I managed to get a quick picture. I'll have to post that when I get a chance.

Overall, despite the issues with the Golden Knights not being able to jump on Saturday, no CF18 on Sunday, and stuff getting shuffled around all in all it was an excellent show put on by the 127th Wing. C17 Demo team from Charleston, Dean's F100, Greg's T33, and the F-22 flow by Cabo made the afternoon entertaining. Looking forward to Thunder over Michigan this weekend!
