First airhow in 2 years for me on Sunday! Weather looks great for Sunday, a chance of scattered showers on Saturday.... but who knows, its Michigan weather

Also, what flight radar do you use, just curious.

First, I'm so happy to see the Snowbirds again!!! Can't wait for the rest of the weekend.

I ended up a bit further west of Denton for the Snowbirds. The police flashers from the car accident scared me off a bit (I thought they were kicking people out) but it was a great spot. For the CF-18, I moved right up to the Denton intersection. Watching a show from the back side of the box is a rare treat, and particularly awesome since the Snowbird formations loop and roll all around the area.

The Snowbirds started with their version of 'circles and arrivals' which is really just a flyby each of the main show line directions. Then they gathered up and waited for the TFR to go into effect so they could start the show. They only got about halfway through before they ran low on gas and had to stop to head back to Windsor.

I am a little concerned that they may have to shorten things on Sat/Sun for the same reason. I doubt the circles took THAT much gas. I know eight jets was the expectation, but it's always disappointing to see the lopsided formations that result. I guess I haven't been paying enough attention to hear why there is no #9.

The CF-18 was nice to watch but much harder to get good photos off. I was hoping the MRT would go right over us but it was inside so I just saw belly. The jet looks cool even with the subdued paint scheme!

Unfortunately the sun will be pretty brutal during the show - staring straight into it but not so low in the sky as to be pretty. It's a shame the flying couldn't be a couple hours later!

Awesome pictures Ryan. Looking forward to seeing the CF-18 Demo Team perform at Buffalo next weekend.

Great pictures Ryan! Arrived at Ecorse at 5:30, saw two accidents, three police cars, and someone being kicked out so I didn't even bother. Went back home to watch from the yard but I did not miss out!

Spent a terrific day at Willow Run enjoying everything that Yankee had to offer.

Thanks also to Ryan for your help getting me to a great spot to watch the evening show. Sorry we weren't able to meet up but I'm sure there will be other opportunities.

The Snowbirds are back!

I went on Sunday and all my expectations were exceeded! Vendors driving around selling merchandise, not to crowded, non-stop fling, etc. although the sun was brutal! There were some minor issues like restroom distance (I guessed this only applies to people taking little kids like me  ). Just an hour or two later would have made for better pictures.

Lots of Wings and Wheels departures between 4 and 6pm: Bearcat, Skyraider, 2 Texans, F-86, C-1 Trader, and a few more.

Plus, the O-2's, The Stearman, and Mike Tryggvasion were awesome additions to the lineup and I was blown away by the CF-18! Boy, Daniel Deluce really kicked ass in that jet!
