Instead, Wednesday night, someone decided to crash me from behind on the highway. So no show for me. Guess will try to stream live tomorrow. Usually one of the local TV stations streams live.

The airshow overall was pretty good mainly due to rarity of the planes and numbers. The B-52 was a no show and so was the F-86. I hope the organizers might read this review of the show so they could put on a better show next time. I was on the City side with the sun behind me. The biggest complaint I had was the fact most of the flyby's were so high up and the crews had no idea how to do airshow photo passes. I like to see topside views of the planes. Many of the pilots would fly straight and level or worse bank towards the opposite bank of the river. Nothing worse to me is getting only getting pictures of the underside of the planes. I know they have restrictions. A simple slow wing wag to the crowd would have been better than the T-38's doing three passes where they were high up and climbing straight and level showing nothing more than the outline of a plane. The F-15's only did one pass high up and stayed straight and level. For all the time cost and effort to fly there you would think they would do more than just flyby once. The planes seemed to stay closer to the north bank of the river and more times than not would do more curving flight paths giving more topside views there. Next year I think I will try over there. The CH-53 did a great show and hovered in front of each section of the crowd line on both banks of the river but the V-22 only did high speed passes with the rotors in both positions. He could have hovered for the crowd but didn't. The other problem was the slow pace of the planes. It would often be twenty minutes between planes. It would have been nice to shorten the gaps and then leave more time for dinner or lunch but you never knew when the next plane was coming so you did not want to leave to get food. There were not any food vendors on the west side of the Kentucky side of the crowd line. The crowd line wasn't that deep and you could get a good view from most anywhere because the planes were flying so high up. If you got there before 10 am you could get front row seats. Parking in the city was plentiful but $6 dollar garages were charging $20-$30 for "Event" parking. Getting out of the city took forever 90 mins in bumper to bumper traffic with lots of blocked off streets. It would have been smarter to have signs with directions to get to the highway entrances since the police blocked off roads your GPS would not give you a good route out. I don't mean to bad mouth the show but I hope by pointing these things out they might improve them for next year. Hopefully people here will be able to plan their show attendance and make better choices by knowing what to expect next year. Overall it was a good show but it could have been a lot better with a few small changes. The Drone light show and fireworks were really good. I hope my review might help you if you plan on going.
