Monday is arrival day for many warbirds and military aircraft. Usually after the show (6pm) on Monday something loud and fast will arrive and beat up the pattern before landing. Tuesday and Wednesday are usually heavy warbird days. Wednesday will have any special aircraft (U2, bombers, Jet Teams, etc.). Gate hours are the same all week 7am-9pm.

    • A reunion of the Chance Vought F4U Corsairs, the unique gullwing fighter aircraft best known for its exploits off U.S. aircraft carriers, will be among the warbird highlights at the event.
    • Devotion, a 2022 American biographical war film based on the 2015 book Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice by Adam Makos will be shown at EAA's Fly-In Theater. This movie retells the comradeship between naval officers Jesse Brown and Tom Hudner during the Korean War.
    • An exhibit that opened April 23, 2022 in the EAA Aviation Museum’s Eagle Hangar honors the late Thomas Hudner, Jr., a Korean War Medal of Honor recipient, with a Corsair aircraft that replaced the one Hudner, Jr. used in his heroic actions that earned him the Medal of Honor. The exhibit also honors Jesse Brown, the U.S. Navy’s first Black naval aviator. The exhibit ties into the Corsair reunion and the Devotion movie perfectly.

One of the most emotional and poignant moments of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh each year will return in 2023 as 100 Vietnam War vets will take a Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., on July 28 as part of AirVenture’s annual salute to veterans.

As EAA’s 1945 Boeing B-17G Aluminum Overcast (N5017N) is still undergoing repairs in 2023, EAA is grateful that the Yankee Air Museum has offered to provide flight experiences in its 1945 Boeing B-17G Yankee Lady (N3193G) during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023. These flights, as with B-17G experiences during AirVenture Oshkosh week in past years, will be based at Appleton International Airport (ATW/KATW) about 20 miles north of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A shuttle for ticketed B-17G passengers will run from the AirVenture Oshkosh grounds to Appleton, Wisconsin.
