Not sure, but if you google ‘Baron NORAD’ it mentions that they use a Beech Baron in NORAD air defense training scenarios.

Oh that should be interesting to see. Probably a mock interception. I wouldn’t doubt the use of flares. As they use flares to get the bogies attention….

Flares would be cool! I was imagining the F-16 going inverted over the top, Top Gun style, and forcing them down, but I am guessing it won’t be that dramatic.

Confirmed two more statics, F15 and F22. As well as the newly repainted F14 will be on display on runway 5/23

If you're driving to the SUN 'n FUN Aerospace expo this year, the traffic flow around the airport and into the camping area and show is a little different this year, so please consult the attached map carefully!

All directions are given with respect to the main terminal at the Lakeland Linder International Airport, but you can adapt the directions to whatever route you're using to get here. Remember that Hamilton Road (campground entrance) is northbound only.

The statics are typically coming and going all throughout the week. As far as the demo teams go, the USAF F-35A will probably arrive Monday the 27th since Beo is flying on the 28th. The Blue Angels will arrive on Thursday the 30th. Not sure about the USMC F-35B but I'm guessing it'll come in on Thursday as well.

I'm hoping the Thunderbirds will buzz the Blue Angels again on Thursday like they did in 2021. It was pretty cool seeing a 7-ship too.

Stay safe,
Josh Walker
