Wow! May will be rocking in 2023 for me.

Langley, Barnes, McGuire and Jones Beach (all back to back). Will have to catch my breath.

I had zero intentions on commenting here considering how it seemed you all were oblivious to what was going on at the Joint Base last year. I'll provide some background.

Last year my fiancée and I lived about 15 minutes from the base. She was a manager at a retail store across from the base and got to know many people who were stationed there. Not just people in the Air Force but also Marines, Navy, and occasionally the Army. She struck up friendships with several who were regular customers and it ended up being where we were getting together for dinner or a BBQ somewhere. The Afghan refugee mission was at the the base and there were thousands temporarily living there. It was one of several ongoing missions and activities the base had at the end of 2021 and going into most of 2022, which included introducing a new aircraft type. Our friends knew in November there was likely going to be no airshow in 2022 because of the refugee mission and other missions they couldn't talk about but said there could be one in 2023.

We've since moved to DE because of job opportunities but still stay in touch with our McGuire friends. If it tells you anything, the last text we got from one of them was "We hope to see you guys up here next May!"

No Blues or Thunderbirds like in 2018.

McGuire is still an excellent show without one of the teams.

Statics always nice with Team McGuire jets, 177 FW F-16, and other fighters McGuire usually has.

I guess this will be McGuire's first opportunity to show off their new KC-46's.

And also the last time the base can show off the KC-10. According to a friend there's only twelve of them assigned to the base and the last one is expected to be gone in early 2024. Like in past shows, I'd imagine that each of their planes will be flown in the show along with a C-17 demo.

Team McGuire will also be featured with their C-17A Globemaster III and the newest Tanker, the KC-46A Pegasus.
