What Are Your 2024 Airshow Plans?

With eight weeks remaining in the 2023 airshow season, I'd thought I go ahead and share my current plans for next year's airshow season. As always this is subject to change depending on the schedule releases from the military performers at the upcoming ICAS Convention this December.

- Dover AFB, Delaware [May 18th - 19th]
- RAF Fairford, United Kingdom [July 19th - 21st]
- NAS Oceana, Virginia [September 21st - 22nd]

Maybes/Possibilities
- Reading, Pennsylvania [June 7th - 9th]
- Latrobe, Pennsylvania [August 17th - 18th]
- Virginia Beach, Virginia (Warbirds Over The Beach) [October 5th - 6th]

2024 should be an awesome year between the RCAF 100TH shows and the 50th anniversary of the F-16. Maybe NAS JRB FT. Worth will do a special show for that

I was wondering the same. I would really like to attend a Canadian show next year to celebrate RCAF 100. I already know Abbotsford won't work for me for a lot of reasons. London is the other big Canadian show that would seem to be a likely candidate for a major celebration. I don't care for drive-ins, but I'd put that aside if they're going to do something special. My interest in a Canadian show would ideally include the Snowbirds and historic RCAF aircraft. It would be great if Canadian Warplane Heritage held an event or at least toured with the Lancaster.

I'm sure we won't know until after the ICAS Convention, but I would love to know if there are any other shows to consider when thinking of potential plans. I understand if specific plans can't be shared yet, but if anyone has a particular show to keep an eye on and consider, I'm all ears.

It's way too early to plan for 2024.

However, since my season ended prematurely due to injury (though I may go against doctor's orders and take a trip somewhere!), I'm looking forward to seeing what the 2024 airshow season has to offer.

I've finally got my passport renewed - my fiancée is waiting until after we get married - and we are planning on doing some international traveling next year, maybe even a Canadian airshow (hadn't been to an airshow in Canada since seeing the Nimrod crash into Lake Ontario). Before any of that happens, we're planning on moving back to New Jersey to be closer to both our families, and that potentially takes much of the first half of the year out of play.

BUT... if we make it work, Dover AFB, Latrobe, Hill AFB, Millville, Atlantic City, and Edwards AFB are on my radar for 2024. There might be a few more, and I've got to talk myself into doing some of these smaller airshows. Now if the rumors that are on here are indeed true, I'll gladly improvise!

The right RCAF 100th event (Aside from London, though if this year is any indication, London will not be an RCAF 100th hotspot) if timing, location, acts and lighting line up.

I want to get back to RIAT after missing this year, have my hotel booked now waiting for word on non-renewal FRIAT Tickets going on sale.
