Another tip is to go Tuesday. That's the practice day, much smaller crowds and you get the same show!passedgas46 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 9:32 pmMost of the casinos that are along the Boardwalk (Tropicana, Caesars, Bally's, Resorts, Hard Rock, and Ocean) would claim that they have oceanfront rooms but they aren't exactly ocean view rooms - you've got something else obstructing your view of the ocean. These same casinos' parking garages are also set further back so it makes viewing from the rooftops even more difficult.Jonesiii wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 5:24 pm My wife and i are interested in seeing the airshow this august. Are there any hotels with oceanside rooms that are in the viewing area where we could watch the show from a balcony or rooftop ?
My wife is in a wheelchair so it keeps us from watching from ground level in the sun.
Thanks for any advice.
You might be able to park yourselves along the Boardwalk fenceline somewhere and be able to watch - near the Tropicana might be the most convenient for you guys. I'm sure you wouldn't be the only ones doing so!

It's almost the same airshow on Tuesday. Many of the flyby aircraft only show up on Wednesday. The only flyby aircraft that you can count on showing up on Tuesday is the New Jersey ANG aircraft. If they advertise stuff like a B-1 or B-52 it's likely only going to do flybys on Wednesday.krunchyfrogg wrote: ↑Mon Feb 05, 2024 9:13 pmAnother tip is to go Tuesday. That’s cool. I mean, I’ll take the trade off of *much* less traffic and a smaller crowd over missing a few flybys.

We've seen the Tuesday crowds grow in size over the last 10+ years just from word of mouth or social media. It's still a fraction of the crowd you'd see on show day but it's still something.
Heck, the last few years I've seen a few people with cameras on the beach on Monday, claiming the Thunderbirds would be doing things that day. They were right - they did things upon arriving on Monday. I don't think that'll happen this year and next year since the Thunderbirds won't be there.
What's strange is that we hadn't heard much in terms of the plans for this year's airshow, which is very unusual and a little concerning. Yes, the F-35A demo, the Polaris Team, Osprey, and the Vampire are coming, but I also hope the silence from all parties involved is actually a good thing and that there's a "this is the first time for this in Atlantic City" type of announcement coming.

No surprise there.n33d4sp33d_85 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 07, 2024 9:45 pm Latest Addition

What is still surprising is that two and a half weeks after I said we hadn't heard much of anything in terms of the airshow, we still haven't heard anything. Little bits and pieces here and there, but that's it. It's looking like a shell of what it used to be...

I think we’ll hear more in the future. Dave has been busy posting about shows earlier in the season and I would expect we will get a lot of good flybys per usual!

It seemed like this time last year we knew the bulk of who/what in one location (social media) before any flyby information was released. I did text a friend who said he's knows just as much as we all do but thinks there's a lot going on behind the scenes.brianmanig wrote: ↑Thu Mar 14, 2024 3:29 pm I think we’ll hear more in the future. It's a strange set of circumstances compared to the last many years, which is why I'm speaking up. The airshow website has dates on there but nothing more, and the Frecce Tricolori not visiting when they're going to be in the immediate region just makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I know I'm not the only one thinking these things!
